JAYO Premieres New Single "2K (Games)"
JAYO is an independent artist based in Los Angeles, CA who's heating things up with his new single "2K (Games)" featuring Jonmosslol. He's an artist who's definitely gaining traction and has built up a strong support system thanks to his quality videos on TikTok. He's back with his latest release called "2K (Games)" and is showing the world what he's capable of this time around.
The song is an upbeat melody that tells a fun story of JAYO having to "play games" with someone he was interested in at one point.
"The concept pretty much came about because this girl I liked kept flaking on me and was being really avoidant, until this one day I’m playing 2k and she calls and tells me to meet her at the mall," JAYO said. "So, I said 'I’d rather play 2k' and decided to make it a song. If she’s going to play games them I’m going to play games."
The high-energy track serves as a perfect introduction to JAYO's sound, as most of his previously released singles have also been fun and sometimes revolve around comedic topics. "Guacamole" for example, which was another single released this year, is a perfect example of an anthem that is amusing and entertaining. The "Guacamole" track was even was featured on Chipotle's TikTok account.

What is your artist name? What is your real name? How did you get your artist name?
JAYO is my artist name. John Olear is my real name. People called me Jay all the time, so I took my Initials J.O and spelt out JAY. But just like my songwriting, I want everything to be intentional, so I made the acronym Just A Young Optimist. I think the name matched my personality well because I always bring joy and a new perspective to people around me.
What are some of your music career goals for the future?
I would like so sell out arenas, travel the world sharing my music. Hopefully get a billboard top 10 hit, and be able to meet and thank the people who inspired me.
What are some projects you’ve done in the past that you are most proud of and why?
I’m really proud of my track Zendaya, because I wrote it really fast and had a lot of references in there that only real fans would catch. It’s also just a really catchy song. Another song I dropped this year was Guacamole, and I was really happy that Chipotle liked the song and used it on their Tiktok account.
What’s next for you? Are you working on any upcoming projects we should be on the lookout for? Include some dates if you have them.
I’m looking to release another single in January and an EP in February. No dates yet so be on the lookout @jayo IG and Tiktok
What message do you hope fans take away from your music?
I hope that my fans can take away a relatable story. I story tell in all my songs, so if someone can relate and know they are not alone in what they are going through, it might give them hope. There’s always a different perspective that can bring joy.
