DaBaby, Megan Thee Stallion, Jhené Aiko, Beyonce & More Score Big On Grammy Nom Day
On November 24, The Recording Academy unveiled their nominees for the 2021 GRAMMY Awards. Broadcasting live from their website and social media feeds, many were tuned in to see if their faves scored nominations. Hip Hop and R&B did pretty well this time around as major players like DaBaby, Megan Thee Stallion, Roddy Ricch, Future, Thundercat, Lil Durk, H.E.R., Beyonce, John Legend, Lil Baby and many others scored nominations in respective categories.
DaBaby racked up 4 nominations including for Record Of The Year, while Megan Thee Stallion picked up 4 as well, including Record Of The Year and Best New Artist. Roddy Ricch emerged with 6 nominations including Song Of The Year with "The Box", while first timer Lil Durk scored 2 for his collaboration with Drake on "Laugh Now, Cry Later". Jhené Aiko scored 3 including Album Of The Year, while Beyonce stepped out with 9 nominations including her collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion on "Savage (Remix)". Jack Harlow and Giveon score their first Grammy nominations while Nas, Jay Electronica, Freddie Gibbs, Royce Da 5'9", and D Smoke all received Best Rap Album nominations.
