Portland Rapper Prxscott on Putting On For His City

Today young mogul in the making, Prxscott stops by for an exclusive Hype Off Life interview. Coming with hard-hitting sounds and street tales, Prxscott is putting on for his city, Northeast Portland in a way no other can. Tune in below for his intro interview where Prxscott gets into how he got his start, the 'Northeast Legends' project, and the importance of the ever-growing virtual world we call the internet. Right now, and only on Hype Off Life 👊🏾

How did you get your start in Hip Hop?

I got my start rapping at a studio called the Krackhouse. My bro @thankyoutyrone_ was the main engineer there. He did all the mixing and mastering.

If you could put any 3 rappers in the Hall of Fame, who would they be and why?

Prxscott, Prxscott, Prxscott !! Jk I gotta go with Pac at 1, and then Nas and Jay Z.

What’s your favorite rap line of all time?

Any line from 2Pac. They all just stand out.

All of your songs hit hard in the trunk. What do you look for when selecting beats?

I always gotta have slappin beats. Idk, I just go for a certain feeling more than a certain sound.

Tell us more about your ‘Northeast Legends’ project.

'Northeast Legends' is a representation of Northeast Portland. The cover has are most famous NBA players on it. On the music side I sampled Cool Nutz's classic song "What I'm About" and Kant B Caught's "My City". Both Cool Nutz and Kant B Caught are pioneers in the Portland music scene.

Will you be dropping any visuals from the project that we should keep an eye out for?

Yessir. Im shooting videos to "What I'm About" and "My City" within the next month or so.

Why do you feel it’s important to put on for your city?

It's important because the Pacific Northwest as a whole always gets over looked. It could be sports, music or anything we just get over looked. Shoutouts to Seattle, Boise and Anchorage.

If you could tell your younger self only one thing, what would it be?

I would go back and tell myself that the internet is here to stay! Probably just the importance of the internet.

Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?

In 5 years I'd like to be an established author. Have some content on Netflix. I love what 50 Cent is doing in the film industry. Thats the lane Im going for.
