SATURDAY SPOTLIGHT: WesWill

Wesley Williams aka WesWill, 24, is an independent lyricist, vocalist, and producer from Cleveland, OH. Since the age of 16, he has been honing a unique style that combines tongue-twisting flows with smooth crooning and harmonic undertones. Much of the soul found in his music derives from the tunes his family played around him and singing in the church choir when he was younger.

In middle school he discovered DJ Quik, Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, and Do or Die, falling in love with how they utilized different melodies within their raps. He then decided to create his own sound, while learning how to produce and engineer himself. Wes studies the game and makes his own sport.

It’s been 10 months since the release of his, last EP, "Summertime Slaps Vol. 1." Which earned him an invite to open for Interscope’s Tierra Whack at SUNY Purchase, where a first-time crowd chanted for an encore after his set.

This summer WesWill is back with that encore and he’s bringing the soundtrack of the summer with Summertime Slaps, Vol. 2. STSV2 is filled with summer vibes that can be felt from coast to coast as WesWill effortlessly merges the nostalgia of the 90’s feel-good music with today's trends.

WesWill’s Midwest roots and love for the west coast’s sound seeps throughout the tracks of Summertime Slaps Vol. 2. Wes’ ability to effortlessly deliver lyrics at a fast pace and bouncy cadence then switch to smooth melodic vocals on the same track, causes him to often be compared to the legends that are Twista, DJ Quik, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and even OutKast. Tune in below to enjoy over 30 minutes of Hip-Hop, R&B, and Funk. Some are even claiming it as "the project of the summer." But we'll let you take a listen and decide for yourself!
