The Rise and Return of Cashh

Cashh formerly known as Cashtastic, is a Jamaican born artist, straight out of South London, UK. He emerged on the UK rap scene in around 2011, a time when you had to be a heavyweight with the pen! Growing a strong fan base, from his “Fire In The Booth“ to his “Behind Barz”, Cashh played no games making sure his lyrical abilities were known and that he was serious and here to stay.

In 2014, at the height of his musical career, Cashh was removed by the UK border agency after being accused of not having the correct immigration documentation even though he lived there since he was six years old. In his three-part series “Cashh in conversation with Kenny Allstar” He talks about some of the private struggles he faced during this time, while publicly it seemed like the perfect picture. He recalls how losing important records of his entry and time in the UK in a house fire, contributed to his frustrating fight against deportation.

Since his return in 2019, he has wasted no time setting the scene back on fire. His first “Daily Duppy” freestyle followed by releases “Incognito”, “ Trench Baby“, and his most recent “Trouble” making a solid introduction to a new audience and reminding those who remember him just why he could never be forgotten. Back with a new level of energy and hunger, he declares in his new single “Gratitude is a must, of course, that’s why I’m stepping with immaculate sauce, splatter every time that I walk, could never let them put my life on pause”.

Sonically Cashh is in his own lane! He has developed an original, creative sound which combines elements of Hip Hop with an evident Jamaican influence! Delivering conscious lyrics, through melodic flows over hard-hitting beats, he is definitely an artist to be paying attention to.

It’s clear that while in Jamaica, he didn’t allow himself to be beaten by his circumstances, but instead directed that energy into honing his craft and mastering the art of storytelling. Cashh describes his sound as cinematic rap. A student of the art, he always delivers high-quality music which he now combines with creative visuals, allowing his audience to really take in the life experiences and lessons that he is sharing.

The rise of Cashh is definitely a journey that we are locked into and looking forward to seeing unfold. Cashh’s new single just dropped called “Wag1” featuring Wstrn which he is proudly declaring as the song of the summer 2020.
