Red Bull's BC One Celebrates 20 Years, Kicks Off 2021 Finals Event

Hip Hop is made up of 5 elements: MCing, DJing, Graffiti, Knowledge, and finally, Breakdancing. Red Bull has been a leading sponsor of many sports events around the world, including the annual one-on-one breaking championship event called the Red Bull BC One World Championship. Following the confirmation of breaking becoming an Olympic sport at the Paris 2024 Olympics, the 2021 BC One event is pumped up more than ever for its finals staging.

Held in Gdańsk, Poland in its 18th staging this year, 32 b-boys and b-girls from 30 countries compete for a place on the world stage. The preliminary rounds consisted of 60 qualifier events where the skills and energy were brought. The championship enters its 20th year, and it has come a long way from its roots in 2001 when it was called Lords Of The Floor before being renamed the Red Bull BC One in 2004.

Former American competitor RoxRite was one of the competition's earliest entrants, and has seen the various changes in the 20 years from being a small event for b-boys, to now a global event that connects with people from all walks of life. In 2020, Japan's Shigekix became the youngest winner in the event's history, and this year promises to bring even more surprises.

Get your sets ready, and prepare to watch amazing moves being when it streams live on Red Bull TV and the Red Bull BC One channels come November 6. The Red Bull BC One is powered by Technics. For more information and how to attend, visit redbullbcone.com.
