QU/NTEN Returns with “City Superstar 2” (Album Review)
Not too long ago 23 year old Carson rapper, QU/NTEN came through with a fire new single featuring fellow Carson rep, Jayson Cash. Since that time the single has been picking up speed, as QUNTEN ascends into super stardom. Today he returns with a brand new album, filled with brand new flow, and an upbeat outlook on life - City Superstar 2.
Coming with 12 tracks, City Superstar 2 starts off strong with an intro (CS2 ft. William Anthony) music aficionados live for, full of hard hitting, soul-stirring piano keys and chords before QUNTEN proceeds to talk that talk.
The album progresses with each track, as QU/NTEN touches on various topics ranging from love, hate, and just why he’s one of the city’s superstars. And let me not fail to mention the smooth Mint Condition sample on “Some Me Sum” courtesy of producer, Bradley Moon.
Speaking of musicality, City Superstar 2 managed to round of some of the dopest producers — Hossy Beats, Drumdummie, ricandthadeusmusic, and 2legitjay — making it a cohesive project, perfect for cruising on those sunnny Southern California days.
And.. while we’re on assists on the album, let’s get into its features. Aside from Jayson Cash, City Superstar 2’s energy is complemented by bars from Cuuhraig, Airplane James, SKY Renzo, and William Anthony who all add their own unique flair.
Overall, City Superstar 2 is an amazing follow up for QU/NTEN to its first installment. The album is mature, smooth, and offers a new perspective as opposed to the usual mainstream. Hats off to QU/NTEN!
Summer will be over before we all know it. So, press play on “City Superstar 2” HERE and enjoy some sunshine and new memories with your real ones!
