Project Pit’s Open Mic Night Sparks Minds in LA

Earlier this Black History Month, Project Pit had Leimert Park lit with their open mic night, “The Den”. Held at the historic Fernando Pullum Community Art Center, the sold out event took place on a Thursday night, or as music heads like to call it - “New Music Friday”.

Something like how Def Poetry Jam was back in the day to a prolific generation, The Den showcased upcoming artists and poets sharing their art with the world. Touching on deep topics, ranging from life to love, systemic racism and everything in between, The Den definitely sparked some minds!

Creating a safe space for artists to express themselves, The Den is one of many initiatives put on by Project Pit for the betterment of the culture and Los Angeles community. Check out some exclusive photos from the event below, and be sure to follow @projectpit for details on the next show!
