Narcismith Is "Vibing" On New EP (Review)

LA-based indie artist Narcismith has been on the scene for a while, and has been steadily gaining a following with songs that aim to stand out from what's trending. Since the beginning of the pandemic, he has been putting in work while living and working in L.A., and all that he has experienced has lead up to the release of his first official project, the "Vibing" EP.

Comprised of 6 tracks, Narcismith lets the listener in on his everyday life, utilizing his creativity for expression that started during the Covid-19 pandemic. "Vibing" is filled with stories touching on single life, experiencing the L.A. life as he worked in advertising, finding and honing his creativity, and the saga of him moving back to Toronto, and returning to the US during the pandemic over production that taps into various sounds. Narcismith started "Vibing" after being inspired during a Verzuz event between Erykah Badu and Jill Scott, and after sessions of beat-making and recording demos in L.A., he would select the best tracks that would later be polished with official recordings in Toronto.

Narcismith kicked off "Vibing" with his Sizzla-sampled "Ouu" that was released at the end of Summer 2022. He then followed up with the jazzy "Resident Alien" that details some of his experiences returning to the US for work, then kicked off a lil party on "Real Hits Only". Narcismith showed love to rapper Lil Uzi Vert on the bass-heavy "Lil Smitty Vert", before closing off with "Toro" and "Call Stephanie". "Vibing" showcased Narcismith's production prowess by utilizing reggae, pop, rap, and neo-soul sounds, and his ability to share stories in his music. Listeners new to Narcismith won't be disappointed, and though the project may not be groundbreaking, "Vibing" is just a taste of the greatness that he has in store for the future. Tune in to your favorite legal Resident Alien.
