M.I.C Book falls into the increasingly rare category of emcees these days that take the time to perfect their craft and put out thoughtful, timeless music with respect to Hip Hop’s legacy of being an oral source of news, history, knowledge, and wisdom. Born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan, M.I.C Book fell in love with Hip Hop at an early age, citing master storytellers, like Nas, Big Daddy Kane, Jadakiss, and Guru from Gang Starr as influences.

Fast forward some years later and now M.I.C Book has joined the ranks as a vivid storyteller, keeping the rich and lyrical of Hip Hop legacy alive with his unique Boom Bap flow that lace Jazz undertones to his rhymes. Actually, you can call M.I.C Book at veteran in the game, with over 15 years of writing and recording under his belt. Since getting started, he’s released several projects that have gone on to get national and international plays.

His freshly released project, “BlackMaiL The EP” comes with 18 minutes of sharp lyricism and wordplay, as M.I.C Book details his life, family, and pedigree over 6 tracks of soulful production. At the end, listeners walk away with a deeper understanding of M.I.C Book’s life in Michigan, as well as some lines to rewind. Making music that’s easy on the ear and good for the soul is something M.I.C Book has perfected over the years. Because mastery takes practice only time and experience can provide.
