Kendrick Lamar’s “GNX” Inspires to Excellence
At a season in the industry when the best new music you can hope for is a Christmas album or two, Kendrick Lamar popped out again. This time with a surprise album, “GNX”. And it’s way more than you were expecting.
While his last album, “Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers“ went over too many people’s heads, “GNX” is all gas, no brakes (pun intended). Because according to Kendrick, “f*ck a double entendre, I want y'all to feel this sh*t”.
Production by Sounwave, Terrace Martin, Kamasi Washington, and MUSTAAAAAAARD keep “GNX” contemporarily G. While features by SZA, Roddy Ricch, AzChike, Wallie the Sensei, Siete7x, plus more equal another Kendrick classic.
I don’t know where you’re reading this from. But LA is currently going UP with “GNX”. It came out less than 24 hours ago, and I’ve already heard it at the bank, the gas station, red lights, my car, etc, etc, etc
LA, the sleeping giant has been awakened. We’re all out here inspired, on our grind, and not standing for any funny business. The camaraderie is amazing. I’d say it’s safe to say this is getting interesting.
