Hot Water Cornbread Festival Invades Los Angeles

The Hot Water Cornbread Southern Food and Music Festival (HWCB) has become the biggest southern festival Los Angeles, California. Infusing Southern culture, heritage, and lifestyle into the heart of LA, HWCB has brought a refreshing energy to the West Coast, stamping its influence on the forever-evolving California way of life.

Returning to the Beehive in South LA, for its last event of the summer, guests were in for a treat. As the founder and organizer Justin Cox, prides himself on uplifting and supporting black-owned businesses, every vendor that was a part of HWCB were indeed black-owned businesses.

Everywhere from food and clothing vendors, to horse riding, this was an unforgettable day of fun, laughter, and southern hospitality. What made this event one for the books is the cowboy-themed attire. Many attendees showed up suited and booted, reminding us of how prevalent cowboy culture is in the South.

For VIP ticket holders, guests experienced “taste buds”, a cannabis and food pairing experience on behalf of Cadre dispensary, Teds Budz, Green Label RX, KK’s Cravings, We Cookn, and Sisi Cakes. VIP ticket holders also got to enjoy a free seafood boil, plus an open bar including a Cutwater drink station, and a tequila tasting with black-owned female-owned liquor company Gran Tezcalama.

The Hot Water Cornbread Festival brought southern black excellence to the forefront of Hollywood in an unforgettable manner. Catch Hype Off Life’s exclusive interview with Founder, Justin Cox on YouTube HERE
