Cultures Collide On J-Hope & J Cole’s “On The Street”

J-Hope & J Cole in "On The Street"

Today we’re giving you something different, but familiar. When cultures and countries clash in music, it’s most times a dope thing. Today, we check out “On The Street” by J-Hope and J Cole!

J-Hope is a member of the famed K-Pop group BTS, and his track “On The Street” is an ode his roots and influences as hip hop is one of his first loves, and J Cole is one of his biggest influences. The collaboration with Cole comes full circle, and they each share their unique flows, lyrics, and style throughout the visual directed by Yong Seok Choi. Street dance is also a part of J-Hope’s life, and he incorporates it in the visual.

“On The Street” is one of J-Hope’s final releases before he enlists in the South Korean army, as it’s mandatory there. Fellow members of BTS have already enlisted, and the group is on hiatus until 2025. We wish him and the group all the best, and they safely return to get back to the music.
