Congrats on your new single, “Don’t Rush” hitting the Top 20 chart! How are you feeling right now?

I feel great!

The track features your music idol, Tank. How did you guys first link?

We first met 14 years ago when I was singers to my previous record label.

Aside from Tank, which artists and albums have had the most impact on your life?

Only Tank

Tell us the story of how you reached this point - from joining the church choir to being on your 5th Top 20 single.

I started singing in a ton of talent shows as a child and never looked back. My faith and my consistency prepared me for this moment.

Right now is the quiet before the storm, as you’re about to release your debut album, “CHAPTER & VERSE". In what ways did putting together a full, cohesive project challenge your creativity?

Hmm ... Good question. Honestly, there was no challenge at all . Everything just organically flowed.

Which track stretched you into a better artist?

None of them ... I feel that I was already on that path before the songs.

How has being a Detroit native shaped your sound and approach to R&B?

It hasn’t . Detroit played no part in my dream at all. It’s just something I’ve always wanted to do.

Your music is bringing the genre back to the light and fun days. In what ways do you feel we need that balance right now?

R&B has always been the “front runner” of real music . It gave us substance, love and a better understanding of how to love each other. Nowadays, music is just a bunch of beats and negativity. The world NEEDS R&B again.

Some artists want money. Some want fame. Others just want to express themselves. Why did you decide to become a musician?

So I could make ppl fall in love again.

What type of legacy do you want to leave?

An impactful one!
