Fetty Wap: 'Bruce Wayne' (Album Review)

New Jersey native Fetty Wap is back with his latest release Bruce Wayne - insert shades emoji right hurrr. Fetty is one of those artist with the golden touch… the man can barely do any wrong on a track. What’s my theory for this? I got you.

First, he gets his instrumentals, pulls out the 1738 (yeah babyyyy) and gets BUSY. He follows up with the harmonizing, studying his access points meticulously then goes in the booth for the kill for a freestyled-reference. The Remy Boyz give him the thumbs up, he steps out and starts putting words to melodies. Maybe I just made all that s*** up but whatever his process is I’m almost positive it’s one that is well thought out.

The Trap Queen artist attacked a little different on here varying from a mellower tone when singing to switching the gears to the classic Fetty. On "So Different" (track 2) Wap wastes no time showing this off, mismatching in the most flawless way. Not only was I surprised...I was refreshed.

There’s something I commend about artist that are different, colorful and whose style can not be easily duplicated. It isn't as untroublesome and common as you might think. "All For You" and "Star Struck" remind me of those slow summer jams that dropped around 2009 - a year I am disturbingly obsessed with - and a much better time for music, while I was running wild doing hooligan activities to songs your supposed to fall in love to. We’ll get into that another time though.

Westin isn’t as serene as the previous two tracks mentioned but will get you nominated for another 30 minutes as crowned Aux-Cord Handler. If you DJs were smart you’d mashup half of these songs with some dancehall riddims and make a name for yourselves. Cut the check. You want the pool party lit? Fetty Wap and Hype got you covered better than State Farm. Stream 'Bruce Wayne' below.
