Watch Out For Eli Derby, LVRN's Next Star

Maryland based artist Eli Derby has proven to be a force to be reckoned with. Coming from a musical family, he has found himself becoming a singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist before even completing high school. He is inspired by 90s r&b, and uses it to mold new sounds that will cause a shift in modern music.

His artistry has gained the respect from many prominent names, and has even secured him a deal with LVRN Records, which is home to big names like 6LACK and Summer Walker. As he prepares the release an amazing body of work in the form of his debut EP, Eli Derby starts things off with the self produced single, "Gaslight".

Eli Derby delivers on "Gaslight" as he shares the pain from being manipulated in a romantic relationship. He taps into that 90s sounds to express everything he's dealing with, and the track makes for a fire listen.

“My musical inspirations are boundless, I can listen to Prince and Michael Jackson in the same sitting as The Beatles and Tyler, The Creator. What they have in common is the ability to evoke emotion, and that’s what I try to do with my own music.

For “Gaslight” it was about making sure the person listening felt okay not knowing what to call their ‘situation.’ And that sometimes uncertainty can be exactly what you need in the moment.”

Accompanying the single is a music video that finds Eli interacting with his love interest through various activities and flashbacks.
