AQ Details LA's Hip Hop Scene & 'White Lies' Album

Catch up with LA' own, AQ in the latest installment of Hype Off Life's interview series. Shot live at the Nipsey Hussle-backed Vector.90! If the name sounds familiar it's because aside from being Starter, Team Captain and in the NCAA Sweet 16 for San Diego State University, AQ was also featured on Joe Moses' December '17 drop, 'Til Death Do Us Part.'Growing up in Los Angeles, AQ's musical influences ranged from 50 Cent and Drake to the jerkin’ music era in Los Angeles (remember that?). Although AQ made his first song when he was 12, he didn't take it seriously until much later, after a barbershop freestyle session inspired him to write and record his first mixtape, 'AQ to the World' in three days.Since then it's been on, with AQ dropping 2 more projects, in addition to his latest release, 'White Lies.' With production from TochiUzo, the album lets listeners in on AQ's love life through songs of love, regret, passion and pain. Because making music that allows people to take their minds off of everyday life and just have a good time is what makes making music worthwhile for AQ.Press play on AQ's exclusive interview above, where he gets in depth about 'White Lies,' Los Angeles' Hip Hop scene and wanting to be an inspiration for everybody beating the odds. When you're done, peep 'White Lies' below, as well as the "Dirty Secrets" visual featuring J.Star and Wave, directed by Shootsblayr.
