Holding collaborations with Doechii, Doe Boy, and Isaiah Rashad under his belt, plus his 1 million streams and being tapped to model for TDE and Yeezy, Yakiyn is kind of a big deal.
Everything’s bigger in Texas and rap multi-hyphenate Yakiyn aka Lone Star Yak is no exception. With ambitions that go global, and music that transcends the genre, the Dallas artist is out to build worlds.
Overflowing with dope and refreshing creativity, Yakiyn raps, sings, and is a born art director with a history of co-producing his own songs, designing merch, hosting coveted events, and creating artistic visuals.
All which make it no wonder that he’s modeled for TDE and Yeezy, appeared in Doechii’s Denial Is a River sitcom skits, toured with Isaiah Rashad, and created tracks with Doe Boy.
As a vocalist, Yakiyn can switch it up from Hip Hop’s raw, rough and rugged roots to today’s smooth sounds, keeping it all the way player. In 2024, Yakiyn released his SAD BOI EP, which showcased his range across 4 tracks, and surpassed 1 million Spotify streams. His 2025 single “BACKBOARD” featuring Kal Banx, served as Yakiyn’s declaration of intent to smash his own glass ceiling.
Inspired by André 3000 and Pharrell Williams, Yakiyn is keeping the tradition alive by artfully blending high concept and lo-fi. You might catch him in a horned hat proudly poised in front of the Texas flag, crowd-surfing in a decked out veil, or wearing a shirt saying “ur boyfriend f*cking sucks!”
Yakiyn’s new single “PUT DEM BOYS TO SLEEP”, along with its black and white music video, co-directed by Yakiyn with Cordell Jomha brings his cool and confidence to life, moving fluidly from scene to scene in his hometown. Produced by Trey Kams, the track exemplifies Yakiyn’s Texas pride and eye for putting together clean visual art and experiences.
