Vince Ash Smoothes Out The Sound On “Lost” ft. Devin Tracy

Today, rising rapper Vince Ash drops off “Lost,” a a soulful new single offering a stripped-back spin on the Indiana lyricist’s sound. Trading the pounding drums of past tracks for a slow, simmering rhythm section, listen as Vince pours his heart into each line, voice crackling as he unspools the tender details of a relationship.

His voice has the intimate feeling of a voicemail as he makes a promise to a lover. He isn’t sure how their relationship will go, or whether it’ll even exist in some time, but he’ll always be there for her because they’re both “lost in the game.” A true writer’s writer, Ash shows he isn’t afraid to ditch his usual bars for a quiet storm of emotional poetry.

“Lost” follows a productive 2021 for Ash. He put out the blistering “Coach Carter” at the end of October, which featured a small army of nimble Midwest MCs. And earlier this year, he became the first artist to sign to Paul Rosenberg’s Goliath Records imprint on Interscope, who put out the deluxe version of his 2020 EP ‘VITO in April. “Lost” develops the introspection of that record, revealing that Vince Ash still has much more of his unique story to tell and proving his commitment to a classic style of rap that transcends time and space.
