How did growing up in Dallas influence your sound and outlook on life?
It had a big impact on my sound because before I started rapping I had never left Dallas, so it’s all I know.
If we were to rewind to 2010, which artists and projects could we find in your current rotation?
I listened to a lot of Webbie and Lil Boosie.
These days you’re making your own anthems, like “Lil Quita”, which has racked up 3 Million views since its release. Did you know it would be such a big hit while you were making it? How did you come up with its concept?
Yeah, I knew it was going to be a hit. My homeboy played me the beat and I immediately felt the whole Texas vibe. I recorded the song in 20 mins because of the vibe.
Describe the creative process behind the track.
It was a regular day in the studio. Pretty much a big blunt, my cup was full and all my homeboys were in the studio with me so I felt like I was home.
So, you’re dropping a new project this year, “Big Trap”. What does its title mean to you?
“Big Trap” means the biggest version of trappin. Super trappin. Big chains. Big whips. Big trips. Big money. Big everything.
The project will feature other Hip Hop heavyweights, like Yella Beezy and Tay Keith. How did you form those relationships?
Yella Beezy’s my boy, I met him in the streets of Dallas at a hole in the wall club and we linked up from there. Then the music just came from us hangin and we grew love over the years. I haven’t met Tay Keith in person yet, but we interact on Instagram.
What significance has networking played in your success?
I love networking because I understand the power of unity when real bosses get together. It has definitely helped, it's like I leave a little of me in every hood I be in.
Aside from shutting down the music scene, you’re also an entrepreneur. Can you give us more insight on your business endeavors?
I have a lot of businesses like dog kennels, studios, tobacco shops, an online shop, renting sprinters, auctioning cars, and a merch shop. But, my best one is my multi-million dollar business... RAP!
If fans could only describe you in 1 word when telling their friends about you, what would you want it to be?
