EXCLUSIVE: Sev7en Taylor Returns with New Music & Interview

It's been a minute since we last heard from multi-talented artist/rapper, Sev7en Taylor. But he's back with good music and a brand new Hype Off Life interview 🙌🏾Tune in below for an exclusive Q&A session and his new single, "LOOK HOW SHE ATE THAT" as Sev7en Taylor continues to push creative boundaries.

What’s good! How has life been treating you since we last spoke?

Life has been treating me good; I’ve been progressing and networking. I’m in such a different creative space with my new work. My focus has been to keep pushing and going towards new goals. New EP I’m recording plus more surprises.

You just dropped a new single, “LOOK HOW SHE ATE THAT. ”. What inspired the new sound?

I wanted something to be played in the club; as the EP itself will have lots of new sounds and a foundation of rap/Hip Hop. More gritty rap anything — I don’t limit myself when creating. I heard the beat for the first time and the same day I went to the studio; I wrote down what I can and the rest was freestyled. Social media and ballroom culture in general; inspired me to make a record that makes you feel it and wanna dance.

“Look How She Ate That" is speaking in terms of someone mastering/accomplishing a level of artistry. Also, a famous video going around and the commentary also made me easily write the hook. I thought about Lil Kim’s “ No Matter What They Say"/“ Jump Off “ and how she brought a dance but still hood bop together cohesively. I challenge myself with every new project.

How’d you pick the beat?

The beat honestly picks me. I heard the beat and immediately started rapping to it.  I’m very big on production and the beats I pick. 

You’ve been steady dropping heat this year, leading up to your new project. When does it drop?

Thank you! I’m always giving various sounds while working on a new sound. My new EP “ The Disobedience Of Jimmie Taylor” will debut 2020. That’s all I can share right now.
