Reema Major: "AK47" (Video)

In the anthropomorphic tradition of Nas’ 1996 track “I Gave You Power,” Reema Major's “AK47” vividly gives a first person confessional from the perspective of a gun. According to Reema, “I partially did it as a homage to Nas. The beat was the gasoline that resonated with me. The flame was the ideas that came after that. I’m from a place that has been plagued with war. And here in the America, we’ve been experiencing plenty of publicized instances of police violence. So this is my commentary on those situations.” If the name sounds familiar, you might have caught her in the 2010 BET cypher, when she was 16 or followed along as she was signed to Interscope by Dr. Dre. Now 21, Reema is set to shake things up on her upcoming album, 'LegenDiary,' which is  produced entirely by Adrian & Lucas Rezza (Cee-Lo Green, Musiq Soulchild). So, check out "AK47" and stay tuned to see what Reema Major brings on 'LegenDiary.' 🙌🏽
