Raveena Releases Genre-defying "Asha's Awakening" Album
Recording artist Raveena strongly believes in music being the "complete expression of the self", and share masterfully showcases that through every release. She taps into your emotions, and she will have your undivided attention when she starts to sing, and you will exalt her like a goddess. She made a splash with her 2019 debut album "Lucid", and now she's back for more with the release of her sophomore album, "Asha's Awakening".
Featuring 15 tracks and released through Warner Records, "Asha's Awakening" is a genre-defying journey of a space princess from ancient Punjab who travels through time and experiences love and loss, healing, and destruction. Listeners will immediately visualize Raveena's concept, and be thoroughly captivated throughout the project's runtime. Raveena tapped into plenty influences for this new album, from the swinging 60s, to the rocking 70s, to the energetic early 2000s, and she blends everything together like a hearty stew ready for consumption.
Production for the "Asha's Awakening" album includes contributions from the likes of Rostam Batmanglij, Everett Orr, Aaron Liao, Jeff Kleinman, Yeek, and Andrew Sarlo who all stepped outside the box to give the listener an out of this world experience. Raveena provides her signature vocals throughout the album, but made room for features from the likes of Vince Staples, TWEAKS, and the legendary Indian singer-songwriter Asha Puthli. Never short on content, Raveena accompanied the album with a performance visual for the single, "Mystery", which was done in collaboration with Billboard for their Honda Stage series. Raveena lets her imagination flow freely, and listeners are sent to a different world with the experience that is "Asha's Awakening".
