Priscilla Vilchis: The Hollyweed Queen Making Power Moves

By combining her passion, purpose, and pressure into a cultural empire, Priscilla Vilchis is rewriting the rules with her latest cannabis collaboration with Ice Cube.
Priscilla Vilchis is not simply getting into the cannabis sector; she is breaking it completely open. The Las Vegas-based CEO, also known as the Hollyweed Queen, has collaborated with celebrities such as Lil Kim, Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan, and Lil Wayne. She's now partnered with Ice Cube to produce Fryday Kush, a cannabis line inspired by the classic film franchise that helped define a generation.
"He's such a great businessman," she says of Ice Cube. "He’s humble, legendary, and a well-rounded individual on top of being an amazing rapper and actor. He’s got a wonderful soul." A true testament to "you never know who's watching you,” Vetting Equity saw her track record and introduced her to the partnership. Once the talk began, there was no turning back. "They didn't want to look any further," Priscilla explains. "We worked on the name, the branding, the packaging—all of it together.”
That collaborative mentality characterizes everything Priscilla does, yet her journey to cannabis began in a completely different field: healthcare. By the age of 21, she was leading a multimillion-dollar business that represented physicians and negotiated insurance contracts. But what she observed behind the scenes—prescriptions, side effects, and suffering—sparked a significant shift.
"I saw the opioid epidemic up close," she says. "Patients were being written all these prescriptions, and I knew there had to be an alternative. That’s when I looked into marijuana.”
Priscilla made history as the first licensed minority woman in Los Angeles County to cultivate and manufacture cannabis, as well as the youngest female minority licensed in Nevada. Even with such credentials, the hurdles were relentless—particularly in banking.
"Banking was the most eye-opening thing I didn’t anticipate," she says. "We have state licenses, everything is aboveboard—and still, I’ve been shut down by 14 banks. Every 4–6 months, we’d have to scramble for new accounts, update vendor payments, and protect cash flow. It’s exhausting.”
She has persisted in progress, though. Confidence like that? It's in her DNA; Priscilla didn't work on it; it's instinctive. "Even as a kid, I preferred sitting at the adult table. I’ve always been curious, always wanted to learn, and when I believe in something, I go all in."
That same mentality fuels her desire for developing medicinal cannabis products. A cancer survivor who had sworn by one of Priscilla's strains provided one of the most significant milestones of her journey. "She told a dispensary that our Garlic Cookie strain helped her get off meds. She wanted to leave a review. Hearing things like that warms my heart. That’s how I know I’m doing something right.”
What's next? Priscilla believes federal legalization is on the horizon, which will bring a slew of celebrity brands, business investment, and even insurance firms into the mix. "Once it's legal, they'll be comfortable enough to participate," she predicts. When the time comes, you can bet she'll be ten steps ahead.
With only one photograph needed to capture her presence, Priscilla Vilchis represents what is possible when passion meets purpose. From healthcare to Fryday Kush, she's demonstrated that she's not just in the room; she's running the show.
