HYPE FILES - The Pisceze Interview

When you hear the name "Pisceze", expect nothing but quality music, eye-catching visuals, and a presence that makes her an artist you need to know. The Canada-raised talent has been on the scene for a number of years, and she has been working up the ranks to showcasing a fresh sound, and becoming standout from what you're used to.

Possessing a Korean/Japanese heritage, Pisceze uses her backgrounds as tools to help shape her artistry, and it has been working well in her favor. From being placed on lists by prominent platforms to touching various stages, Pisceze is not a fly by night artist and she's here to stay!

We recently had a chat with Pisceze where we chopped it up about her come up, her sound, being an Artist doing her thing in Toronto, dream collaborations, and more! Check it out below.

Thanks for coming through! For those unfamiliar, how did you get your start making music and how has the journey been from there to where you are today?

I started songwriting for artists in 2018 and would record music for fun here and there. Seeing the process of how an artist made music inspired me, how songwriting was healing in what I was going through and saw how it helped others. Music was an inspiration of passing energies to an audience to feel good and feel like you could be there for them through the music.

Pisceze came about as I'm super into astrology and I'm a Pisces - being highly intuitive and sensitive are traits of myself that I feel led me to the original music meant to touch my fans. There’s a lot of ups and a lot of downs in this journey but it feels aligned with me.

What bumps along the road to success have you had to ride out?

My patience and ego. I’m a very impatient person but in this business you have to learn to be patient... there’s certain things that test my pride and my ego but I’ve learnt to just put that energy onto my music rather than to things/people

You know how they say every L is a lesson, if you let it. What lessons have you taken away from the obstacles you’ve had to overcome?

When one door closes, another opens….

Toronto has been bringing the heat! How has growing up there influenced how you see the world?

Toronto is multi-cultural, so you get to learn and experience different people and their cultures. This is probably why I’ve always wanted to explore and travel the world.

Your sound has a very classic, yet modern feel. Which artists and albums did you keep on repeat during your youth?

Nirvana - Nevermind Album always on replay. The Used, My Chemical Romance… Blink 182

Which artists would you like to collab with now and in the future?

Bruno Mars

You’re on a mission to shape the world of music in your own way. Which direction do you want to take music, and how do you plan on accomplishing it?

I want to bring K-pop in R&B and call it Chill Pop

Where do you want to see yourself 3 years from now, as far as your lifestyle and career goes?

On a world tour!

Anything else we should know?

New music coming soon <3
