PHONZZ Is On His Way To A "Billi" On New Single

The latest offering from PHONZZ gives supporters a dose of what's to come on the upcoming EP, 'Every Good Boy Does Fine: Part 1'. The lead single, "Billi," drops with an intensity not commonly seen from artists outside of the younger crop breaking ground today.

Immediately, "Billi" drops with kicks mixed to distress your best speakers, a growling low end, and a strained delivery for one of the artists' most intriguing flows yet. For the hook, he pens, "Arms open wide / Looking at the sky, yelling / will I see a billi 'fore I die?" It's not a new development that life has a lot to offer, and it's also not a new development that things cost money.

If you took this song for face value, you might hear someone willing to do whatever it takes, even willing to sacrifice spiritual integrity for the almighty dollar. But it's deeper than that; on the second verse, PHONZZ taps into nostalgia, "we going down, down, down baby / yo street in a Tesla / young black kids the new tech investors." He paints a utopian image for all the entrepreneurial black kids while still staying true to the topic and repositioning it as what could be done with a Billi if he had it.
