The Late ODB Will Be Featured On A&E's "Biography" Series
Put your W's in the air the Wu-Tang Clan! The late ODB aka Ol' Dirty Bastard is forever remembered as a larger than life character who gave us classic music and moments in hip hop. One of the 9 members of the Wu-Tang Clan, he was the showstopper with his unorthodox flow and lyricism. It has been nearly 20 years since his death, and the A&E Network looks to put his life and work on the spotlight in a special presentation of their "Biography" series.
"Biography: Ol' Dirty Bastard" was directed by the father-son duo of award winning Director Sam Pollard and his son Jason Pollard, with production by Pulse Films, Four Screens, and ODB's estate. The special feature will look back at the life of the Wu-Tang Clan MC born Russell Jones, his influence during his time on earth and after his passing, and his contributions to and impact on the hip hop culture. "Biography: Ol' Dirty Bastard" looks to celebrate his life and legacy, look back at his upbringing, and the roles he also played as a father, husband, friend, and son.
"Biography" is a documentary series that started in 1962, and has been a staple of the A&E Network since its acquisition in 1987. It is one of the most respected tv shows, with over 1,000 subjects covered, and has branched off into different forms of media. Muhammad Ali, Marvin Gaye, The Rock, and Lena Horne are just some of the names that appeared in the series.
