King Zaae Throws One for The Culture with "Love Like Winter" Concert

What’s Emo? Skinny jeans, eyeliner, and those kids wearing everything you can buy at Hot Topic. Emo is a music and fashion style from the early 2000s that is now on the rise again. Bands like Hawthorne Heights, Underoath, and American football are at the forefront of molding the emo culture.

Singer King Zaae is throwing a concert, “Love Like Winter” for the Emos to remember on December 18th, at the Funhouse in Seattle.

Who is King Zaae? King Zaae is a singer/songwriter from Seattle, Washington. He started his music journey at the young age of 11, recording and releasing his tracks on Soundcloud. His early influences were mainstream Rap, starting with imitating his idols at the time. His first song to get a small buzz, with over 250k streams on SoundCloud, was taken down.

It wasn’t until late 2021 that he truly developed his sound. Taking the year prior, to study and learn more about music. Expanding his music taste pallet and opening his mind to more sounds. Emo is a driving force! Some of his mixtapes like “I hate this town” and songs like ”Dead Rockstar” are where it's evident. Classifying his music as Alternative, with singles HateitwhenImopen, and Im tired.

He states, “I grew up with my Auntie, in love with MCR (My Chemical Romance) and watching her being an emo teen in that era. I didn't explore for myself until later and ended up falling in love with the music, stuff from Hawthorne heights to American Football, unbelievably amazing.”

He performed all through 2022, starting small at local cafes to then performing at a sold-out concert at the world-renowned Seattle MoPop! He wants to “throw one for the culture.” In hopes to one day be able to make a long-lasting impact on music and make a mark with his music on the culture and people.

Wtf is Emo night? Emo nights are concerts thrown where people who enjoy classic 2000s Emo music come together again to relive the past. Famously known through Emo Nite doing Tours around the U.S. But with Zaae being 15, he wasn’t able to attend Emo Nite shows. What was once an idea and dream in his head is now coming to life! Sharing his love for Emo teens through live performances and putting on a good show!
