Hit-Boy And The Alchemist Talk New Highly Anticipated Goldfish Album & Short Film

Two of the most prolific and influential producers in Hip Hop, Hit-Boy and The Alchemist, have joined forces to release one of the most highly anticipated albums of the year titled “GOLDFISH”. Continuing the success of his first solo album (Software Update) since going independent, Grammy Award Winning hitmaker Hit-Boy, continues his legendary music run as a producer and artist. The Alchemist, who is having just as much of an iconic year, collaborated with Larry June, 2 Chainz, Yaasin Bey, Mobb Deep, Boldy James, Armand Hammer and Erykah Badu, making Hit the latest victim to his musical genius.
Together the pair has put together a cohesive, authentic, and original body of work, that reminds listeners of how impactful the Hip Hop genre is. But they didn’t just stop at the music. The duo teased a short film to accompany their release, giving fans a more in depth look into the creative genius both Hit and The Alchemist possess.
“Me and Alc coming together to showcase our best beats and raps we got, while rapping and collaborating together is just high level,” stated Hit-Boy. “This album is all about life progression. Everything has been a stepping stone to get to this point in life, and this release is definitely a stepping stone to get to the next level.”
To commemorate such a momentous occasion, the pair linked up with Elliott Wilson to host an exclusive album and film screening, at Brain Dead Studios. With a private reception filled with an exquisite charcuterie board, sparkling wine, a step repeat and unmatched vibes, on-lookers oozed with enthusiasm as they awaited to be seated for the screening.
As guests arrived at the theatre, they were gifted “GOLDFISH” exclusive merchandise, while indulging in finger foods, beverages and laughter. The film follows the lives of two hitmen (Hit & Alchemist) disguised as carpet cleaners, while the album 15 tracks, tells a cinematic story of growth, triumph and deep introspection.

You will see appearances from legendary actors Danny Trejo, Simon Rexx, and Grammy Award Winning rappers AZ Chike and Lefty Gunplay. As the film wrapped, Elliott Wilson hosted an immersive live Q&A with some of the cast and crew, giving attendees a more in depth look into the mindsets of everyone involved.
When asked about what it was like working with Hit-Boy on the Goldfish album and film The Alchemist stated “He keeps you on your A game. He works the same as I do, as far as being dedicated goes. He is a master at his craft and we learn from each other. I am so glad we had the chance to premiere this film in Los Angeles.”
Hit-Boy and The Alchemist’s hard work, drive, and dedication to their craft, has reminded the Hip Hop community of just how rare music veterans talents are. It is safe to say that they are stamping the pavement as two of the most iconic Hip Hop producers of our time.
