DaeShawn Forrest Unpacks Newfound Appreciation For Life On "Once More"

When it comes to the life and hardships faced by 22-year-old Hip-Hop artist and producer, DaeShawn Forrest, he is not afraid to peel back the layers and be transparent. While releasing his three previous singles “A Moment’s Time”, “Walk Away”, and his latest one, “Revenge On The Soul”, the artist did not refrain from discussing his experiences with depression, anger, heartbreak, and even suicidal thoughts. His willingness to tell his story has impacted his listeners on a level that’s deeper than them just nodding their head to the music.

Now DaeShawn returns with a brand new single called “Once More”. “Once More”, a track with a blend of Hip-Hop, R&B, and vibes perfect for the start of the summertime, and also featuring guest appearances from Le’Tresse Cherie and J.Cole-inspired rapper, KD the Poet, showcases DaeShawn Forrest as someone who is finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel after being in the dark for so long. While Le’Tresse Cherie provides her vocals for the hook, DaeShawn and KD both compliment each other well as they rap about their experiences coming out of dark times.

A song like Once More is so important and so critical”, stated DaeShawn Forrest. “Not only does this song talk about a new love and perspective for life itself, it also demonstrates the importance of making through your rough times. Something like Once More could only be made if you make it through and I think that’s the most important lesson to take away from this one. Yes, life is hard, and some have it much harder than others. But, what I’ve learned through my experiences is that there is power in being able to say that you made it through. Once I finally felt like I made it through, all I could do was thank God because I’ve known people who went through similar things but didn’t push through it,” explained DaeShawn when discussing the heart behind the song.

On his Instagram story DaeShawn had mentioned that “Once More” is the fourth and final single that he is releasing from his upcoming album, "Transparent 2". He also mentioned that he will reveal more details regarding the project shortly.

“Once More” is available now on all platforms and is produced by DaeShawn Forrest and Jenna Rodriguez. It’s accompanying music video was co-directed by DaeShawn Forrest and Brandon Orozco.
