Coi Leray Taps Her “Grown & Sexy Era” with “Can’t Come Back” Video

After killing her Coachella debut, Coi Leray drops off a brand new vibe, “Can’t Come Back”, produced by TrueBeatzz and Melz of Ear Drummers. The video, which was was directed by the Dragan Aric aka The.97, and creatively led by Alondra Costa with Johnathan Behr as the lead producer, serves as Coi’s high-energy homage to Janet Jackson.

Bringing Coi's vision to life, “Can’t Come Back” not only showcases her artistry but also pays homage to the legendary Janet Jackson’s dance-heavy “Pleasure Principle”. With meticulous attention to detail, Coi captures the essence of Jackson's ambiguity and influence, infusing the visual with a similar set design, wardrobe, and artistic vision. The addition of movie-poster-esque stills further enriches the visual narrative, elevating the entire viewing experience.

But that's just the beginning of what promises to be an extraordinary year for Coi Leray. With two Grammy nominations under her belt, including “Best Rap Performance” for her chart-topping hit “Players” and “Best Pop Dance Recording” for “Baby Don't Hurt Me” with David Guetta and Anne Marie, she's been making waves in the industry. Add to that her debut at Coachella, a nomination for iHeartRadio’s 2024 Awards for “Dance Song Of The Year” with “Baby Don’t Hurt Me,” and the release of a brand new track, and it's clear that 2024 is shaping up to be Coi's year.

This new era, which Coi refers to as her “grown & sexy era”, follows a wildly successful 2023. Her album, COI, made an impressive debut on the Billboard 200, while her RIAA-certified platinum hit “Players” dominated the charts. Not only did the track earn her first Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 spot, peaking at #9, but it also held the #1 position on Rhythmic Radio, Urban Radio, and the Billboard Hot Rap Songs Chart for three consecutive weeks. With such an impressive track record, it's no wonder Coi Leray has quickly become one of Hip Hop’s brightest stars.
