Chris McClenney: "Sidetoside"

From time to time, I come across those songs that remind me just how magical music can be. Not the smash radio singles, but the ones that make emotions collide and force you to dance beyond your own will. I can practically feel the aura from the recording session that birthed "Sidetoside" by Chris McClenney. I wish I was there.

Everything on this song coincides angelically. As McClenney serenades his fancied lady, the production is too smooth. The drums add bounce to the equation and as clean as this track is, it whacks us right in the face with just the right amount of grit.

The Maryland artist’s vocals give the song an eerie yet soulful persona. Eerie and soulful enough to motivate you to shoot your shot in a 1993 New York City nightclub on a Friday night while your homeboys are getting their laugh on from the corner. All of a sudden their like “OHHHH!!!” because you and shorty are breaking it down on the floor. Needless to say, THE VIBES ON THIS ARE REAL!!

When the time comes for me to film my epic biopic, Chris, "Sidetoside" is going to be on the MF’n soundtrack. Go check it out!
