Chance The Rapper: Big Faith on "The Big Day" (Album Review)
What’s up Hype Homies!
I hope everyone is cool, calm, and collected! I must say the California weather is nothing to be messed with and if you’re in it, please go back in the air condition. Wherever that may be.
Speaking of heat, I came to chit chat about Chance The Rapper's new album, “The Big Day”. Personally, "Coloring Book" is my favorite album but I’m listening to what he’s coming with this production. My first instinct is adaptation. I literally have to adapt to the entire production. Chance is dope, especially when he dropped "No Problems".
The newly released album, came out Friday, July 26th 2019. A soul piece of artwork. The album features collaborations with Da Baby, MadeInTYO, John Legendand Gucci Mane, just to name a few. "The Big Day" is filled with new feelings and no hesitation about his faith. This is one thing I love about Chance The Rapper. He is honestly one of the most successful secular artists that is not afraid to share his faith. Hey, it is what it is.
Listening to this album reminds of a few things:
1) Being authentic is still in style
2) The 90’s will always be a whole MOOD
3) Never be afraid to share your sound with the world.
When I say the 90’s era is a whole mood, Chance brought the whole 90’s vibe with the track “I Got You”. Featuring Ari Lennox, a soulful R&B singer tearing up the scene on her own.
This album is filled with relational skits and universal sounds. It is obvious that Chance didn’t hesitate to stay with one specific sound. Each track embodies his personality, his style and sound.
I can’t wait to see which song is going to be an anthem-like “No Problems”. To be straight up, “Handsome” is probably going to be the hot boy summer song for the rest of the season. I can definitely see the hot boy vibes on the gram. HA! He let even Megan Thee Stallion hop on the track. Oh you know it’s going to be a HOT EVERYBODY SUMMER.
The song "Big Fish" featuring Gucci Mane embodies the stance of a boss! It’s always going to be memorable with some Gucci Mane in the mix. Chance The Rapper has gone above and beyond with this album. Getting married, taking care of his family and looking out for his people in Chi Town has really brought him to so many high levels. I truly appreciate when artist are authentic.
In conclusion, check out the album. I'm vibing with it. How about you? Comment down below and tell me what your favorite track is.
Until next time...
Peace,
Miss Parker
