Rublow Gets At GloRilla on “No Weight"

Today, Tampa Bay rapper Rublow comes through with his latest Cash Money Records release, “No Weight”. The 2-minute track is a short and sweet one that packs the rawness of a freestyle while flaunting  Rublow’s wit and lyrical dexterity, which he sports like a prizefighter while dipping in and out of storytelling and hypnotic hooks.

This should be no surprise though, once you consider Rublow’s musical pedigree. His grandmother, Kitty Daniels is a celebrated pianist and performer who notably accompanied icons like James Brown and Ray Charles. While his grandmother imparted her love of piano by teaching Rublow how to play at an early age, his father exposed him to a wide variety of sounds, ranging from Culture Club and Queen to Tupac and Jadakiss.

After deciding to fly dive into his rap career when he was 16, Rublow found his way to LA, taking his diverse sonic palette with him. During his time in LA Rublow found himself temping at UCLA before running into early fan and award-winning Noomi Rapace (The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo) and artist Anwar Hadid who championed Rublow. Their friendship led to Rublow’s “10 and Running” being posted on Hadid’s social media story and a feature on his debut album “Bleach”.

In between then and now, Rublow released several singles, including “Wishing Freestyle” and “Dumb Dumb” before eventually catching Slim of Cash Money Records attention. Rublow’s Cash Money debut, “Blow Talk” pretty much went viral and he’s even earned a co-sign from Ebro Darden.

But if you clicked the link over here, you’re more interested in Rublow’s new single “No Weight”. So, press play on it above and catch the first two lines:

Somebody tell GloRilla I said, "Come and ride this dick like a four-wheeler"

You Big Glo' and I'm Big Blow, we can have a baby, name her BlowRilla

Wild, I know. But, you can’t make any shots you don’t take, right?

Will this lead to a Yo Gotti and Angela Simmons situation or another plot twist? The world may never know, but the track is still a bop!
