Chow Mane: 'Mooncakes' (EP)

Dubbing himself as "Hip Hop's Jackie Chan," UC Berkeley graduate, Chow Mane meshes Chinese culture and Bay Area sauce on his debut EP, 'Mooncakes.' Coming in at 6 tracks and 16 minutes of unadulterated Hypeness, 'Mooncakes' tells a unique and often overlooked story of a young Chinese American's experience of growing up in the Bay Area, while still staying true to tradition. After listening to the project, which was executive produced by Jordan Garrett and released through Forever New Nation, with production from Hongye you can pick up on Chow Mane's influences of "Lil B, Ronald Takaki, and soup dumplings." I'm just feeling the way he keeps it 100 with his heritage, without watering down or selling out for radio spins. It's definitely dope, different and worth 16 minutes of your time.
