Asiahn Kept The Vibes Overflowing at UnRestricted Live's R&B Edition
About a week ago (December 11th), UnRestricted __ Live came through live at The Vermont in Los Angeles. Featuring some of the hottest names in R&B, like Gene Noble, Reggie Becton, Kenyon Dixon and Asiahn, the show was vibes on top of vibes.
With Reggie Becton kicking off the show with high energy and plenty of personality, the night progressed from Gene Noble’s effortless vocals to Kenyon Dixon’s smooth sounds, mixed with Hip Hop aesthetic, before closing out the night with a dope performance from 3x Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter, Asiahn.
Performing popular hits like “OMW”, “Like You” and “Drip”, in addition to renditions of Jazmine Sullivan’s “Lions, Tigers & Bears”, and Erykyah Badu’s “Next Lifetime”, Asiahn kept the crowd hype, as they sung along to every line.
If you haven’t heard about Asiahn (pronounced “Ahh-zee-yahn”), you might want to do your research. Aside from carving her own lane in these sonic streets, the Los Angeles-based multi-talented artist also plays the title character in the recently released Netflix animated series, Karma’s World, created by Ludacris.
The show tells “the story of a girl finding her voice and using it to change the world,” which sounds like the ideal role for Asiahn’s steady rise, which includes being named Pandora’s Artist to Watch 2021, participating in Live Nation’s Black History Month, and Tidal Sessions performances.
