AQ Lets You Know Why ‘Hollywood Hurts’ on New EP

AQ is back, and of course, he puts no other than his city at the forefront of his project, shouting out LA's club scene and the infamous nightlife in his latest project, Hollywood Hurts. AQ has had one hell of a year, dropping hit after hit, a total of four tracks that have all proved his ability and tenacity as an artist. From singles like "Top 10," featuring L.A. Higgz and "Respect," featuring 1TakeQuan and Rucci, it is no shock AQ holds nothing back in his most recent release, Hollywood Hurts.

The seven-track EP is where AQ is at his most vulnerable, detailing the passion and the pain that it takes to be successful. On the project, he reflects on the plight of not getting the respect he deserved while he was coming up, but now he thrives as a figurehead in the Hollywood nightlife scene. This EP is about returning to these past events and realizing how far you have come.

"It’s about achieving dreams, reaching the highest level of success you could possibly think of," AQ says. The project covers multiple things, as he raps about the "Obsessed," being "Too Comfortable," and going "Back to Basics," featuring WaveMVP and Casey Veggies.

AQ delivers the perfect Hollywood vibe throughout the project, as it serves as a window into the Hollywood lifestyle that AQ is all too acquainted with. This EP can be nostalgic to any listener, recalling memories of the party antics that shaped them, the way it "Used To" be, or currently is. Also, much more, contrasting it with the hardships in life and being an artist in Hollywood in general.  AQ describes Hollywood Hurts EP as more cathartic than anything else as he tries to relate to his audience by showing a range of emotions.

"I’m a happy person, but we all go through certain things that shape us to the person we are today and will continue to grow,” he said. “I want people to dance, smile, cry, think about that one ex that changed things for you, that one time you partied in Hollywood and you had a blast, the time you and your best friend had an amazing night together. I want people to enjoy the project and I hope they do."

And that is precisely how the EP comes across, and it is not only full of fun party memories but cathartic and emotional ones as well, proving his versatility as an artist, balancing the introspective and LA party tracks well.
